This does not apply to the volume mod. Everything works fine with 08.xx bootloaders. I did it with 8.26. This can be done simpler. 1. Go to http://www.mark-world.tv/motorola/page1.html and download the "P2K Phone File Manager". That's the only download you'll need. It is unnecessary to download extra drivers since that one already contains all the required drivers in 'drv' subdirectory. Unpack the package to you computer, but don't start p2kman yet. (XVI32 is just a hex editor. You can use whatever hex editor you prefer. There's no need to download XVI32 if you have some other hex editor already. Otherwise, download XVI32 as well.) 2. Connect the phone using USB cable. XP will look for a driver for USB Modem. Point it to the aforementioned 'drv' directory and let it to install the modem. 3. Now run 'p2kman.exe'. XP will find 3 extra devices. Every time point it to that very same 'drv' folder for drivers. 4. Now just do what it says at http://www.mark-world.tv/motorola/page8.html - download 'gain_table.bin', modify the value, upload it back and change the attributes. That's it.
