increase the volume of your razr v3
Stupid Motorola Razr v3 phone is too quiet, all the time I have trouble hearing the person on the other end. Even with a headset… here’s how to fix it:
- google it
- Download drivers and whatnot
- install motorola drivers and p2k drivers set
- connect razr to comp through usb cord
- download p2k tools and p2kman
- download xvi32
- read this page on downloading and editing gain_table.bin
- and this page on stuff in gain_table.bin
- reboot phone
from mark-world.tv: ” Launch p2kman and download “gain_table.bin” from the “/a” directory. Now open “gain_table.bin” in XVI32. To adjust the earpiece gain, go to offset “0D” (in Adr. Hex, you’ll only see “D”). The default value is “01″ and you can adjust the settings from “00″ to “08.” “00″ is silent and “08″ is as loud as possible. Just type the number directly into the offset’s two-digit box. I changed my earpiece gain to “04″. Save the file, upload it to the phone and reset its attribute to “70004″ by entering “4″ in the “Attribute” box and then click on the file to highlight it and click “Change” then click “Restart phone”.”

google is your friend. if you can’t figure out how to find the tools then you probably shouldn’t be doing this…

This is unnecessary overcomplicated. This can be done simpler.
1. Go to http://www.mark-world.tv/motorola/page1.html and download the “P2K Phone File Manager”. That’s the only download you’ll need. It is unnecessary to download extra drivers since that one already contains all the required drivers in ‘drv’ subdirectory. Unpack the package to you computer, but don’t start p2kman yet.
(XVI32 is just a hex editor. You can use whatever hex editor you prefer. There’s no need to download XVI32 if you have some other hex editor already. Otherwise, download XVI32 as well.)
2. Connect the phone using USB cable. XP will look for a driver for USB Modem. Point it to the aforementioned ‘drv’ directory and let it to install the modem.
3. Now run ‘p2kman.exe’. XP will find 3 extra devices. Every time point it to that very same ‘drv’ folder for drivers.
4. Now just do what it says at http://www.mark-world.tv/motorola/page8.html - download ‘gain_table.bin’, modify the value, upload it back and change the attributes.
That’s it.

Also, the ‘mark-world.tv’ web site says that for some mods you have to downgrade the bootloader from 08.xx version to 07.xx version. This does not apply to the volume mod. Everything works fine with 08.xx bootloaders. I did it with 8.26.

Are there any of the above links that are in English? I don’t read Japanese.
